Indian trounced Bangladesh 7-1 in their second Group-C match of the 2020 Asian Women`s Olympic Qualifying Football Tournament (First Round) at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon (Myanmar) today. This was the first win in two matches for India, who earlier drew their opening match against Nepal 1-1.
Three players from Odisha are representing India in this tournament. They are: Manisha Panna (East Coast Railway), Jabamani Tudu (Sports Hostel) and Pyari Xaxa (Sundargarh). Altogether 18 teams would compete in Round-I. The 18 teams have been divided into four groups and after completion of group league, 10 teams (top two from each group and two best runner-ups would advance to Round-II.
India will play their last league matche against host Myanmar on November 13. The Indian team will be aiming to qualify for the second round for the first time in its history.

Nov 5: India (Kamala Devi 37th) drew with Nepal (Niru Thapa 11th) 1-1.
Nov 10: India (Kamala Devi 16’(P),53; Bala Devi 22’,23’,62’,75’; Sanju 73’) beat Bangladesh (Krishna Rani 81’) 7-1.
